Dance Group
The Kalinka Folk Group is a multicultural dance ensemble of all ages. Their goal is to spread a positive message by engaging with their audience through traditional performances. The Kalinka Folk Group consists of dancers originally from Russia. They are an integral part of the Saskatoon Russian Folk Centre. Their presence added a lot of prestige and class to our symposium.


Prisha Roy
Singer and Dancer
Prisha was born and raised in Kingston, ON, Canada. She has just completed Grade 12 in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program at Aden Bowman Collegiate. This is a very advanced high school curriculum. She has done very well in all her subjects and has consistently scored above 90 percent. She is especially interested in history, biology, and health science topics. She has been doing exceptionally well in biology. Prisha has been active in cultural activities since an early age. She has received many medals and trophies from the Saskatoon Academy of Music. She won awards in different singing categories. This year, she won three trophies in three categories: ballad, musical theater up-tempo, and pop. This may be a record at the Saskatoon Academy of Music. In total, she has won six trophies. This shows her dedication and passion for music. She is also good at singing various kinds of Bangla songs, including Rabindra, patriotic, and modern. She can play guitar and piano. She also loves dancing. She has been learning classical, folk, and modern Bangla dance forms.
